GPS Scintillation and TEC monitor

National Space Agency (ANGKASA) with the collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has installed one GPS receiver in Langkawi National Observatory (LNO). This instrument so called GPS Ionospheric Scintillation and TEC monitor (GISTM) installed since 2010 for meet the research purpose on the ionospheric over equatorial region. The location is choose due to its uniqueness and close to magnetic equator. The GISTM is a system Model GSV4004B from Novatel. The primary purpose of the GSV4004B GISTM is to collect ionospheric scintillation and TEC data for all visible GPS satellites (up to 10), and up to 3 SBAS-GEO satellites, and output data logs, called ISMRB or ISMRA, to a serial port in either binary or ASCII format.
